How To Measure Your Jacket Size

Embarking on the journey to find your ideal leather jacket is akin to discovering a piece of your personal style puzzle. Here at Leather-Jackets.net, we understand the importance of this quest and are here to guide you through the process of measuring yourself for your jacket size, ensuring that when your package arrives, it’s love at first fit.

MEASURING UP

  • Chest: This is the most critical measurement for your jacket. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, and across your shoulder blades. Ensure the tape is parallel to the floor and snug but not tight. For women, measure across the bust at its fullest point.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, which is typically the narrowest part of your waist. The tape should be snug but not tight.
  • Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips. This is crucial for longer jackets to ensure a comfortable fit around your body.
  • Sleeve Length: Place your hand on your hip, so your arm forms a slight bend. Starting from the middle of the back of your neck, measure across your shoulder down to your elbow and then down to your wrist. This measurement ensures the sleeve fits perfectly from shoulder to wrist.
  • Shoulders: Measure from one shoulder point to the other, across the back. The shoulder point is where the horizontal plane of the shoulder intersects with the vertical plane of the arm.
  • Back Length: For the back length, measure from the base of the neck (finding the prominent bone at the base) down to where you want your jacket to end. Consider if you prefer a cropped style, a classic fit, or a longer style for more coverage.

A FEW PRO TIPS

  • Wear Fitting Clothes: Take measurements over light clothing to ensure accuracy. Bulky clothes can add inches.
  • Breathe Naturally: Don’t hold your breath or suck in your stomach. The jacket needs to fit your natural shape.
  • Stand Tall: Maintain good posture without stiffening your back for the best measurements.
